Rami Elhanan is an Israeli Jew from Jerusalem. He has served in the Israeli army and was a combatant during the Yom Kippur War in 1973. Bassam Aramin grew up in Hebron. He was a Palestinian freedom fighter and has served 7 years in Israeli prison. Rami's 13-year-old daughter, Smadar, was killed by Hamas in a suicide bombing in 1997. The same year, Bassam's 10-year-old daughter, Abir, was shot and killed by an Israeli soldier. Over time, Rami and Bassam have learned to listen to each other, understand each other and comfort each other. On Tuesday, February 27, you can meet them at Melahuset.
